IT Architecture Services:

the road To success

Most common question:

Why should we care about creating an Architecture? The environment changes all the time and it is just too difficult to keep up with the documentation of all the changes.
— A Typical CIO

Bottom line: A solid Architecture can make the difference between success, an extended / expensive success and failure.

Architecture done right starts with the business architecture and aligns the IT architecture.  So what is business architecture?  A blueprint of the enterprise (or functional component) that provides a common understanding of the organization’s interaction with technology.  The blueprint includes intra-department priorities, inter-department priorities and high level workflows.  This blueprint is used to align strategic objectives and tactical demands.

How do we help?  By providing our experience to help evaluate and document the current business architecture as well as the desired business architecture.

An example of how we can help:  Let’s assume you desire to improve a specific business function and you would like to know how technology can help.  We would then perform the following:

1)    Gather all of the current business architecture related to a specific business function.

2)    We listen:  We listen to all the input from the front line staff on what needs to be done to improve the current architecture.

3)    Gather the necessary information from IT to understand what technologies are already available.

4)    Work with you to understand what technologies to deploy to improve the current business architecture. (including financial models if needed)

5)    Work with IT to create a deployment roadmap that will take IT from current state to desired future state.

6)    Work with each business unit on deployment, training and adoption of the new business architecture.
